Earlier this year, DICE revealed that the fan-favorite feature, Platoons, would be returning in Battlefield 4
, and sure enough it is now available for all users. This new feature allows members to create their own Platoon, which up to 100 users can join, as a way to get together with friends, and organize for game sessions. The Platoons feature is accessible in the Soldier drop down menu on Battlelog, as well as on a new tile on Home.
Players who create their own Platoon will have management and customization abilities at their disposal. Besides a Platoon name, players will be able to assign the Platoon a four-character tag, as well as a custom designed emblem. All members can easily use the emblem as their own, and it will automatically update if changes are made to it. Platoon members can then play together, with at least four minimum at a time, to earn stats. Your core stats are either averaged or accumulated and applied to the Platoon to rank it up, from level one to ten to start. Platoon totals of kill/death ratio, score per minute, and skill will also be view-able.
As of right now, everyone can join a Platoon. However, until March 13th, being a Battlefield 4
Premium member as well as having a soldier rank of at least ten will be required to create a Platoon. The good news about all of this though is that the feature is cross-platform, so anyone can join the Platoon, no matter on what platform they are playing.
