Recently Medal of Honor
has drawn a degree of criticism for allowing gamers to opt to play as the Taliban fighting against US soliders. However producer at DICE Patrick Liu, (remember the multiplayer element is the brainchild of DICE, whilst the single player element is the work of EA LA), has responded to their critics, speaking in the latest issue of PSM3 magazine.
I think it is a fair point. We do stir up some feelings, although it's not about the war, it's about the soldiers. We can't get away from what the setting is and who the factions are, but in the end, it's a game, so we're not pushing or provoking too hard.
It's massively unlikely this will have any adverse effect on sales of the game. It's probably more logical that it will benefit the title thanks to the additional PR. It does however perhaps raise some morality questions.Whatever the outcome, I'm sure this is a subject which would generate some interesting discussion in our community.
