SEGA and Pyro Studios (Commandos, Praetorians) announced today that they will be working together on a game based on the Sony Pictures movie of the same title. The movie is slated for release on November 20th.
The movie was written by the same writer as Shrek and Shrek 2 and revolves around American astronaut Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker who "discovers" a new planet. He finds out not only is he not the first one there but the local life forms live in a peaceful environment reminiscent of 1950s America and they fear being overrun by alien invaders, namely Chuck. Chuck then has to do everything he can to avoid becoming the newest exhibit in the Planet 51 Alien Invaders Space Museum.
Based on the Shrek conversions from silver screen to d-pad (admittedly by a different studio) I am not going to get too excited about his one. Unless a movie port is being done by Universal (Wanted: Weapons of Fate) or Luxoflux (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) I am not going to get excited about it until the studio proves they can put together a good product.
