The game that has become a smash-success on the Xbox 360 will now be making the move to the Xbox One. Announced this morning, Happy Wars
will be the latest game to make the transition to the next generation console.
Rather than just a simple port, Happy Wars
on Xbox One will have several new features of its own. Four-player local multiplayer in split-screen will now be available, as well as online cross-play between the Xbox One and Xbox 360. For those concerned about losing all of their progress with their character's items on the 360 version, fear not, as your characters and items will come with you to the new console, through Xbox Live. The Xbox One version will, of course, also have enhanced graphics from its original version.
Players will be able to pick from six different character classes - Warrior, Mage, Cleric, Berserker, Zephyr, or Engineer. The game will feature a story-driven campaign, as well as multiplayer modes for up to 30 players, which veterans of the 360 version should already know all about. The transition to the Xbox One will not mean an end of support for the 360 version, as both versions of the game will receive events and updates in the future.
on Xbox One will be free to download when it releases later this year.
