Day one of E3 may be drawing to a close, with only Sony's conference left for today, but the news unsurprisingly is continuing to pour in. Assassin's Creed Unity
in particular seems to be a hot topic, and there are a pair of new videos hot off of the presses which further explore the game's plot and setting.
The first video is all about Unity
's protagonist, Arno Dorian. Arno is described as a young man wounded by loss, so he fits the assassin mold pretty well when you look at the trend of the different assassin protagonists. He is well equipped with the new Phantom Blade, which adds throwing abilities to the Hidden Blade, the light and easy to handle French Cutlass, and the Multi-Barrel Pistol, a powerful repeater gun. We all know that Arno will have a much more diverse arsenal, but we'll have to wait and see what other tools of the slaying trade we'll be getting our hands on.
The second video features a single player demo, with commentary by Alex Amancio, the Creative Director of Assassin's Creed: Unity
. The demo highlights some of the new features which Unity
will introduce to the series. For instance, players will now be able to enter buildings seamlessly, without any type of loading screen. Using Eagle Pulse, which seems like a variation of Eagle Vision, will allow Arno to see through walls in order to make a plan of attack. A dedicated stealth mode has been introduced for the first time in the series, which will allow players to take a much sneakier, less-lethal approach. All of these features, as well as several others, are explored in this demo, so be sure to check it out.
The videos are not the only news for Unity
, as information on the Collector's Edition of the game, and certain pre-order bonuses have also been revealed.
Included in the Collector's Edition:
- 16" Arno Figurine
- Art Book
- Collector's Box

Now, based on the individual retailer's pages, it appears that only Amazon and GameStop are offering the two following pre-order offers, while all four of the retailers have their own unique weapons which you'll find listed.
