TA Gaming Stats - June 9th to 15th 2014

By Chewie, 4 years ago
This report is for the period June 9th to June 15th 2014.

Hello TA'ers and welcome to this week's slightly late out the door stats. Don't talk too loudly. I had a crazy weekend drinking flaming sambucas with some of my Ewok helpers, the Statisticles, and I have a killer hangover, hence why the stats are late. I should note that mixing ignited alcohol with entirely fur-covered creatures is not a healthy mix. Some of the Statisticles are severely charred at the moment.

Games Started
30,552 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 44,162 games between them (1,932 different games).

After the shake up of new releases and "Games with Gold" over the last few weeks, things settle down a bit this week. Freebies Max: The Curse of Brotherhood (Xbox One) and Halo: Spartan Assault (Xbox One) are still (obviously) on top, although both drop by over half to between 3,000 and 3,500 starters.

After its big slide from over 17,000 to 2,000 starters last week, Watch_Dogs (Xbox One) slows its decent this week, going down to 1,100 in third. Thanks to a half-off sale in Deals with Gold, https://www.trueachievements.com/Peggle-2-Xbox-One/achi....htm gets a boost in starters, jumping up into fourth place with 770.

In its last week of freeness on "Games with Gold", Dark Souls takes a tumble in numbers (a numble?), from 8,000 to 2,300. On the new release front, Enemy Front doesn't exactly pull in big numbers, settling for seventh place with almost 300 starters. That doesn't bode well for the game's multiplayer. Other new release How to Train Your Dragon 2 doesn't even get a look-in.

With a two-thirds off discount this week, Forza Horizon speeds into third place with over 460 starters. Also on offer, Resident Evil Revelations takes eighth with 240 and Grand Theft Auto V pops up at the bottom with 200.

After its recent boost in numbers, Warface manages to maintain its over 400 starters this week, retaining first place. Close behind is the on sale Terraria with 370 starters, which sits above all the usual recent sale, "Games with Gold" titles and free-to-plays. New release Blood of the Werewolf didn't get anywhere near enough starters to put it on the table.

This week's sale title, Rayman Fiesta Run (WP), runs up to the top of the table, above recent chart toppers Temple Run 2 (WP) and Wordament Snap Attack (WP), whilst previous sale offering ilomilo (WP) retains a decent spot in fourth.

Although it also does well on W8, the discounted Rayman Fiesta Run (Win 8) doesn't pull in quite as many starters as new release Microsoft Jigsaw (Win 8). The latter title manages 190 starters, despite only getting a soft release in Trinidad & Tobago. There sure are a lot of Trinidadian gamers here on TA...

Games Completed
7,967 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 10,727 games between them (1,302 different games).

The easily completed freebie Max continues to lead the table, growing its completions by almost double this week to just under 1,000. Just a week after release, Murdered: Soul Suspect (Xbox One) climbs further up the table from fifth with 200 to second with 350 completions.

Meanwhile, both Forza Motorsport 5 and Dead Rising 3 get boosts thanks to the DLC packages released for them during this year's E3. The amazingly titled Super Ultra Dead Rising 3' Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX + a gives the game 260 completions and a fourth place position, whilst Nürburgring for Forza gets over 80 completions in ninth.

The 360 version of Murdered also climbs the table, going from third with 75 to over 140 completions, whilst the "Invasion" DLC for Call of Duty: Ghosts continues to pull in over 100 completions in second.

Top Xbox 360 Retail Games Completed

After a few weeks on top, The Wolf Among Us slips below The Walking Dead: Season Two this week, but only by 25 completions. Apart from that small change, there isn't much new about the table except for Far Cry Classic popping up in eighth with 40 completions after recently being on sale.

Top Xbox 360 Arcade Games Completed

The last three weeks of deals titles all proved easy, with all of them on the table this week: this week's Rayman takes fourth behind last week's ilomilo in third, whilst the previous week's Pac-Man Championship Edition DX (WP) takes sixth.

Top Windows Phone Games Completed

Like WP, Rayman and Pac-Man take their places, this time in third and sixth.

Top Windows 8 Games Completed

Achievements Won
73,346 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 858,201 achievements online between them (51,763 different achievements).

As with last week, Max takes up the top nine spots on the table. However, instead of Halo: SA, we get a DLC achievement for Dead Rising 3 in tenth.

Top Xbox One Achievements Won

The same four Dark Souls achievements lead the way this week, with Ring the Bell (Undead Church) rising up from ninth to join its brothers in fifth. Instead of CoD: Ghosts in the bottom half, we mostly get stuff from Saints Row: The Third, with the first achievement for Forza Horizon thrown in at ninth for good measure.

Top Xbox 360 Retail Achievements Won

With Wolf Among Us slipping down in numbers, that leaves Warface to step in and claim the top spot.

Top Xbox 360 Arcade Achievements Won

Rayman gets a clean run in the top sixth, whereas Temple Run also gets a clean run in the bottom four. Basically, lots of running is involved.

Top Windows Phone Achievements Won

Rayman is denied the same clean run in W8, with Jigsaw filling in pieces in first, fifth, seventh and eighth.

Top Windows 8 Achievements Won

With no big releases or sale titles, there isn't a huge amount to shake up the Genre numbers this week. Action-Adventure still easily leads the way, despite a slip from almost 12 million to just under 11 million. The biggest change comes from Racing, which climbs from seventh to sixth, doubling its numbers from 600,000 to 1.2 million, thanks to the combined work of Forza Horizon and Forza 5's DLC. Peggle 2 and Microsoft Jigsaw also help give Puzzle a boost, pushing it from ninth with 400,000 to eighth with almost 700,000.

Total TrueAchievements won by Genre

That's all for this week folks. Next week we'll be getting a few more new releases, hoping to do better than this week's sorry lot, including Sixty Second Shooter Prime, Outlast and EA SPORTS UFC.
