The Evil Within Gets A New Release Date

By Andy Mills, 4 years ago
The Evil Within - the latest game from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami - has been no stranger to a release date change during development. However, unlike the previous change, which was a sizeable delay, this time the release date is moving forward.

Revealed at QuakeCon, the release date for The Evil Within has been moved forward to the 14th October in North America (16th in Australia, 17th in Europe), putting it directly up against Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Vendetta: Curse of Raven's Cry, although they now avoid clashing with the likes of Battlefield Hardline and Evolve in what is swiftly becoming a packed October for video games.

While this news is good for those who want to get stuck in to The Evil Within, I can't help but feel a little twinge of disappointment. You've made a horror game, it's coming out in October, surely the perfect release date is Hallowe'en!
