Goichi Suda - better known as Suda51 - is at Gamescom this week, and has just announced what his newest game is, and more importantly that it will be gracing our favourite console.Sine Mora
is its name, and it has been described as a "horizontal side-scrolling shooter unlike any other ... which mixes traditional side-scrolling gameplay with unique time manipulation mechanics." Unfortunately, the game won't be released until Q3 2011, but with such a visionary genius at the helm, the mere name alone is enough reason to get excited.
For those in the dark, Suda51 and his Grasshopper Manufacture studio develop some of the most interesting and unique games imaginable, namely the No More Heroes
series and Gamecube critical darling Killer7
, as well as DS-exclusives Contact
amd Flower, Sun and Rain
. Whatever Sine Mora
turns out to be, you can guarantee it'll be a one-of-a-kind game, which excites me beyond belief.
The game is being co-developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and Hungarian studio Digital Reality, and in a feeble attempt to pad out an otherwise brief news story, I can tell you that "Sine Mora" is Latin for "without delay." Best hope they hit that Q3 2011 release date then!
