A Black Market Opens in Titanfall

While we have seen many details about Titanfall's upcoming DLC pack, "Frontier's Edge", there were, apparently still details to come. You may be thinking "oh, finally, a release date," and yes, we do have that information, but we also have details on Title Update 5 for the game.

Frontier's Edge and Title Update

Unlike many Title Updates, this one doesn't include a long list of minor tweaks, but rather a fairly major addition to the game: The Black Market.

For those of you who have played Titanfall, you'll know that Burn Cards are earned through gameplay and allow you to have certain perks in battle once they are activated. The amount of cards you can hold is finite, so you're often left discarding extras. Now, you'll be discarding those cards for credits to spend at the Black Market.

Selling Burn Cards

In the Black Market, you can buy Burn Card Packs. Each pack contains cards that are similar, such as a Time Boost Pack or a Weapon's Pack. The cards within the pack are randomized, but at least you know, if you like using Ordnance, that all of the cards will give you a boost in that area.

The other items for purchase in the Black Market are Titan Insignias. These are the "official insignias of elite units on both the IMC and Militia" and are available for use with your custom loadouts.

All of this is nice, but you probably are curious how you go about earning currency. As mentioned above, discarded Burn Cards now convert into currency, so that's one method. The other way to earn credits is simply by playing Titanfall and by meeting certain conditions.

• Match Victory
• Match Completion
• First Victory of the Day
• Completing Daily Challenges
• At level 50, a percentage of the XP you earn will be converted into Credits
You'll likely be pleased to know the no micro-transactions are involved in the Black Market. All credits are to be earned in-game.

Earning Credits

Finally, there are a couple of other details you should know. First, the Black Market is available after you reach level 11 and, once you regenerate, the Black Market, much like Burn Cards, remain available to you.

Respawn also confirmed that "Frontier's Edge" and its included maps, Haven, Edge, and Dig Site, will be available on July 31st. "Frontier's Edge" will cost $9.99 (or your regional equivalent), or can be purchased as part of the Season Pass for $24.99 (or your regional equivalent).
