Earlier today, EA announced a new program exclusively for Xbox One: EA Access. EA has partnered with Microsoft to offer an exciting service to gamers that will allow access to a library of EA's Xbox One titles to play at will. Priced at $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year, EA promises it to be a revolutionary new way to enjoy your favorite titles going forward.
Members will first and foremost have access to what EA calls The Vault, a selection of games to which you will have unlimited access as if you owned them yourself. While the program is currently in a limited beta, the initial offerings are FIFA 14 (Xbox One)
, Madden NFL 25 (Xbox One)
, Battlefield 4 (Xbox One)
, but EA promises more titles to be added soon.
Other member benefits include a 10% discount on all digital purchases on EA products made via the Xbox One Games Store. This includes full games, subscriptions (such as Battlefield 4: Premium or FIFA Ultimate Team points) and DLC. Membership also grants an early access program for new releases, allowing you to download trials up to five days before release. If you purchase the game, your progress will carry over to the full title as well.
Subscriptions to EA Access will be available for purchase directly through your Xbox One console. GameStop will also sell subscriptions in the US, while Amazon and GameStop will offer them to players in Europe. Canadian gamers will be able to pick up their subscriptions at EB Games.
EA Early Access is currently in beta and has been sent to a select number of Xbox One users; the full service is coming soon. For more information you can check out the EA Access
website, where you can sign up for a newsletter alerting you to updates for the new service. Or just keep up with us here at TA, of course.
Thanks to the awesome members of our community for sending this info in! Were you one of the select few to receive the beta? Have you given it a try? Let us know in the comments!
