The fourth and final DLC pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts
comes out in a few days, and so it's time to get a look at what will be included. "Nemesis" will introduce another four multiplayer maps, each with their own special twist, as well as the finale of the Extinction narrative story.
Let's start with the new maps. Goldrush:
"Goldrush" is set in an abandoned gold mine, which has two mining carts running along rails that can kill players if it hits them. Infinity Ward Executive Producer Mark Rubin describes the map as being "a very active map; keep your head on a swivel, and pay attention to what you're doing." In the short clip of the map, you notice that there is a platform that raises and lowers, which could make a game type like Domination a little more interesting for the control of that flag. Subzero:
"Subzero" takes place in a frozen Canadian submarine base, where all of the inhabitants have "recently disappeared." Rubin describes the map as being small to medium, with a unique killstreak that causes a blizzard to descend on the area. Although it doesn't appear to be like any blizzard I've ever encountered, because the blizzards I'm used to don't tend to have red glowing eyes.Dynasty:
"Dynasty" is set in a lakeside Chinese village with "gorgeous architecture," that Rubin describes as one of the more beautiful maps they've ever made. The map is small to medium in size, and has a lot of central choke points where some good hectic firefights should ensue. The special killstreak for "Dynasty" is a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
favorite, which appears to be the Harrier Strike. Showtime:
"Showtime" is a re-imagining of "Shipment" from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
. The re-imagined map takes places in a futuristic death arena, which has a counter that selects different alterations to the map. One outcome appears to be care package drops throughout the map, while another looks like it will deploy different kinds of gas and smoke, and a third will unveil mounted sentry turrets to thin out the crowd.
Now, let's discuss Extinction. This DLC pack will bring the final chapter of the Extinction story, "Episode 4: Exodus." Project Director Brian Bright describes it as being the "biggest and boldest Extinction map we've had yet." The episode also promises bigger weapons, different types of Cryptids, and the chance to fight the Ancestors.
"Nemesis" arrives first on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on August 5th.
