Today, fresh out of Gamescom, Deep Silver revealed the first gameplay trailer for the next entry in their zombie-slaying series, Dead Island 2. Despite that it's pointed out that this is "pre-alpha footage and represents a work in progress," it does give the viewer an idea of what Yager, the developer of the game, is planning on doing with the franchise.
Dead Island 2 will be set in California, far from the reaches of the island of Banoi in the Pacific Ocean. The game is said to bring new additions to the game, such as weapon crafting and eight-player drop-in, drop-out gameplay, but as the trailer will demonstrate, much of what players loved in the first two games in the series will also be returning.

Dead Island 2 is set to release on the Xbox One in Spring 2015.
