Blues & Bullets Announced

Microsoft carried on with support of its ID@Xbox publishing program at this year's Gamescom, with quite a bit of air-time and a montage showing off several of the upcoming games during the conference. One such game is Blues & Bullets, which is being developed by A Crowd of Monsters.

B&B 1

Blues & Bullets is an episodic noir story, where the player will take on "thrilling shootouts, dark investigations, difficult decisions, and unexpected story twists." You will fill the shoes of Patton (not the General), who is a former detective that is struggling with his own inner demons. The game will function similarly to the concept behind something like The Walking Dead. As you progress through the game, everything that you do will make the game react and change how the story evolves from episode to episode. Firefights with enemies, conversations with companions, crime witnesses, and other key characters - all of it will impact what you choose to do, and how you choose to move the story forward.

What catches the eye is the game's noir atmosphere. The black and white style is specifically placed to enhance certain details in your surrounding. Colors are dabbed in to draw your attention, such as the red lips of a femme fatale, or the blood from an enemy during a shootout. The player will be in an immersive city, "full of details and different locations" where the story will take place.

Blues & Bullets is expected to release on May 15th, 2015 on the Xbox One. Since it is an episodic game, that would be the expected release date of at least the first chapter. Right now the game is said to have a provisional cost of $4.99 per chapter, or $19.99 for the Season Pass.
