The torrential downpour of game announcements coming out of Gamescom 2014
is enough to require a floatation device. Keen Software House is the latest to throw their game into the ID@Xbox program with Space Engineers
, a game that is (by all accounts) popular on Steam as an Early Access title. Furthermore, Space Engineers
will be exclusive to the Xbox One for a full year.
As a creative engineering platform, Space Engineers
will give gamers the tools to build and maintain space stations and ships in both single and multiplayer environments. The game will also feature both Survival and Creative modes, as well as resource management and combat.
For those looking for more of an engineer's "clean and simple" hot sheet of what Space Engineers
is all about, Keen Software House offers the following:
Space Engineers is a sandbox game about engineering, construction and maintenance of space works. Players build space ships and space stations of various sizes and utilization (civil and military), pilot ships and perform asteroid mining.
Space Engineers utilizes a realistic volumetric-based physics engine: all objects can be assembled, disassembled, damaged and destroyed.
We also have some screenshots and a short announcement trailer.
Release date and pricing for Space Engineers
have not been announced.
