Just recently we were able to bring you news from comic-con and now we have news from Gamescom about the upcoming MMO-racing, The Crew.

The Crew Gamescom 2017

Ubisoft have gone to lengths to show just how expansive their new racing title will be. The driving playground will be a persistent open world covering the whole of the USA with over 1,000 real world landmarks recognizable in the game. There will also be many of the major cities featured, all with environments and terrain that represents their real world counterparts. Players will be able to seamlessly jump in and out of games at any time, and take part in any of the 900+ events and activities that will be available at the game's launch.

Along with those events, players will be able to create their own gameplay experience depending on their own personal tastes. Furthermore, they will be able to 'crew-up' with their friends to take on crew vs crew challenges or just just cruise the open roads.

Next to the MMO elements, the developers also want to include RPG elements such that players will earn XP whilst driving and participating in the open world. Cars will be customisable with five different tuning specs (street, performance, dirt, raid, and circuit), and there will be a wide range of perks that can be chosen to enhance the player's driving style. Each car is described as a jigsaw of 20 different pieces that can be individually upgraded as the player wishes.

Finally, a lucky few will be invited to take part in a closed beta that is due to take place in late September, although the details about the beta and the entry requirements have still to be released. In the mean time, Ubisoft has released a new trailer highlighting all of the key features of the game.

The Crew will be hitting the road on November 11th, 2014. Those of you who haven't purchased an Xbox One will be glad to know that Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will also be coming to the Xbox 360 too.
