Speaking to Eurogamer Spain
, Microsoft has confirmed that Kinect won't be fully functional at launch for mainland European countries.
The forthcoming slice of tech from Microsoft was due to ship with voice recognition for all associated territories but it has been confirmed that Kinect 'will only accept' voice input in the form of 'American English, British English, Japanese and Mexican Spanish'. Those living in mainland Europe will have the functionality 'disabled' on their hardware until the feature is patched in by Spring 2011.
It was also revealed that the disabling of the voice input will be non-negotiable. So even if you are able to speak fluent English as a first or second language in your territory you will not be able to enable this feature within your Kinect hardware.
