In response to a lengthy list of features that gamers discovered were missing
from NHL 15
thanks to the EA Access trial period, EA Sports was quick to address the situation with a promise of post-launch content updates
to replace some of those missing features. The first of these updates is now available to download, which returns a handful of those missing features to the game.Playoff Mode
Players can now create an offline tournament bracket with up to 16 teams going head-to-head. You can opt to create a realistic NHL Playoffs scenario, or instead you can mix and match teams from 12 different leagues to create several fantasy matchups. Games can be played or simulated, and player and team stats are tracked throughout the duration of the tournament. Coach Feedback in Be a Pro Mode
Before the content update, absolutely nothing outside of a bench-view of the simulated game went on while in-between shifts. Now with the update, Coach Feedback has been returned to the mode, so at the very least you can see how you are performing in the game. However, based on the screenshot, it appears that there still is no option to sim to your next shift, meaning players will still have to wait for their stamina to recharge before getting back onto the ice.3 Stars of the Game
The "3 Stars of the Game" segment has returned, highlighting the best players of the game and the stats that they racked up. Hockey Ultimate Team
Hockey Ultimate Team has received a variety of basic functionality updates, including updated layouts and improved navigation. The Edit Lines screen now better identifies players who are hurt or those who require contract extensions. Player items also have new animations.
All of these updates are available in the content update, which is available right now for free. Features that are scheduled to be patched in the future include Online Team Play and a new GM Rookie Draft system for Be a GM mode.
