Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Gets Status Update

By Rebecca Smith, 4 years ago
Oddworld Inhabitants haven't had the best of relationships with Microsoft, with the result being that Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty nearly didn't make it to any of Microsoft's platforms due to their restrictions on self-publishing. However, once the ID@Xbox scheme was announced for Xbox One, the publishing outfit was one of the first studios to sign up. During E3 2014, the game was confirmed to be heading to Xbox One before the end of the year.

Since then, the game has been released on Playstation 4 but other platforms seemed to have fallen by the wayside. Not so, says Oddworld Inhabitants, who has released a statement explaining the status of the upcoming title. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of news to it:

The most recent version to be announced, it shouldn’t come as much surprise to learn that development on the Xbox One version is still in its early stages. We envisage a relatively short window before the game is ready for release, however, and expect the game to feature the same great visual and gameplay standards seen on the PlayStation 4 version.
In case you haven't been following the game's progress, here is a previously released trailer and a number of screenshots to show you what you can expect from the title:

We're not entirely certain if the game is likely to be released before the end of the year now, but Oddworld has promised that they will announce the game's release date as soon as they are confident that they have "reached the highest quality we can".
