We've known about Telltale's upcoming adaptation of Game Of Thrones for a while now
, but have not had not much beyond the odd tease here
. That situation changes a little today, after some more concrete information about Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series
The game will be directly based on the characters, events, and world of the HBO Game Of Thrones
series, which is in turn based on George R. R. Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire
series of books (although the TV show does not always adhere to the source material). The events of the game will start near the end of season three of the TV show, and end right before the start of season five, and Telltale promise that you'll see familiar sights, such as The Wall and King's Landing, as well as visiting places as-of-yet unexplored by the TV show, such as Ironrath - the place where House Forrester call their home.
Speaking of House Forrester, they will be playing a big role in the game's events as every one of the five
characters that you shall be playing as is either a direct member of, or is in service to the House. The actions of one can affect the choices of the other four - and beyond - hopefully providing a true experience of the Game Of Thrones
, where you win, or you die. Without spoiling anything, players of Telltale's previous games know that they are more than capable of following through on the latter.
Release dates for Game Of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series
, and its opening episode, "Iron From Ice," are currently unknown, but Telltale has promised more details on that front and that the game will be arriving soon on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
