was announced last month
, very few details were forthcoming about the brawler that used a three-button control scheme to play Super Soul's take on rock-paper-scissors. We can now fill in a few of those gaps.
Up to 16 players can battle it out for supremacy in rounds that last just ten seconds. You will only have to land a single punch to win the round, but each round only allows you to use one punch, one block and one fake. If you want to win the Fisticuffs League Champion crown, you will need to choose and time your moves carefully.
Different game modes will allow you to switch up the rules. 2s and 3s will allow players to use each move two or three times respectively, although you will still only need one punch to win. Meanwhile, Tag Team pits teams of fighters against each other, while King of the Hill allows four players to enter the arena at once. As if your wits aren't being tested enough, King of the Hill matches will carry on continuously until you run out of time.
Each of the game's multiple characters are based on famous people from the 1920s. Despite this, you will still be able to customise their costumes, props and other unlockable "gizmos".
Duke it out as the Bare-Knuckle Brawler Richard Slugging or the High-Flying Amelia Airborne! Astound and amaze your opponents as the Electrifying Nikola Volt or chop your opponents asunder as the Temperate Carrie Hatchet. Play it smooth as the Jazz Legend Barrelhouse Jones or relax a while as the Melancholy Charlie the Tramp!
We can't yet tell you when you'll be able to put Charlie the Tramp against Amelia Airborne, but Speakeasy
is heading for the Xbox One.
