Another new game announced at this week's Tokyo Game Show! Tecmo Koei have announced the hack and slasher Ninja Gaiden 3 is currently in development, being shown behind closed doors today.
The above image is currently the only asset released for the game, but does an effective job at teasing the game; Ryu Hayabusa is removing his mask, representing the more human side that the game will show of the protagonist, and hinting that the game will reveal more about him as a person, including a dark secret of his past that will be a major plot point.
His face and hands is caked in blood, suggesting a more bloody and violent game compared to http://www.trueachievements.com/NINJA-GAIDEN-2-xbox-360.htm
, as well as a darker game on the whole. Or is it his own blood, suggesting tougher enemies/weaker abilities?
The only bad news is that Tomonobu Itagaki, creator (or rather, resurrecter) of the series and design lead on both previous NG games, left Team Ninja in 2008, so won't be involved in the project at all.
No release date has been announced yet.
