There was an abundance of new games announced at Microsoft's conference at TGS last night, one of the most notable and surprising being an XBLA port of cult shooter Radiant Silvergun.
Developed by Japanese studio Treasure, the vertical shmup was released in 1998 in both the Arcade and on the Saturn, but solely in Japan. The game's become a cult favourite and an incredibly rare collector's item, famed for its exquisite design and flawless gameplay. The nearest we Western players got to it was its spiritual successor, http://www.trueachievements.com/Ikaruga-xbox-360.htm
, also developed by Treasure.
The XBLA version will have upgraded HD visuals, Xbox Live co-op play and an "Ikaruga mode" when it launches exclusively on Xbox Live Arcade in 2011.
