Ubisoft Gives DLC Away In Light of Unity Problems

By Damien Knox, 4 years ago
While big releases are certainly typically the talk of this time of year, much of the chatter this holiday season has, sadly, revolved around broken games. One of the biggest offenders has been Assassin's Creed Unity, which has already received three patches with a fourth confirmed to be on the way.

Ubisoft obviously realizes this is problematic, so they've taken steps to try to garner the good favor of gamers who may feel put off by the product they received at release. For anyone who has purchased Unity, they will receive the first piece of additional content, "Dead Kings", at no cost. How do you pick up this content? According to a FAQ posted at the Assassin's Creed site, you simply do the following:

Once available, the Dead Kings DLC will be listed as an add-on in the Xbox One Marketplace. There will also be a link from the in-game menu.
What if you've already purchased the Season Pass for Unity, or the Gold Edition of the game that included the Pass? Then Ubisoft wants to make it up to you by allowing you to select, for free, one of the following titles to receive once they have a system in place for distribution:

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Far Cry 4
Just Dance 2015
Rayman Legends
The Crew

The free game must be redeemed no later than March 15th, 2015.

The Season Pass has already been pulled from the Marketplace, so those looking to download it now, be aware that it is currently unavailable. As more details arise about how to redeem the free game, if that's the option you'll use, we'll bring that information to you.

Thanks to all the community members who sent this one in!
