TrueAchievements Is Back!

Well, what a nightmare week we've had!

A server hardware failure combined with a whole load of bad luck had left the site almost completely destroyed.

However, with a lot of hard work and persistence, we are close to being back up to around 90% of our functionality.

To summarise, we lost quite a lot of data, including all solutions, reviews and comments since January. We are doing all we can to get the data back using some data recovery experts, and we should know how successful that has been by the end of next weekend. In the mean time if you want to re-post your solutions and reviews that's not a problem. If we get the data back, we will copy up the historical ones as they have all the votes and comments on and remove the replacements if they match yours.

Other, hopefully less important, areas of the site where we've lost data are Private Messages, Gamer History, and the Friend Feeds. Again we'll try to get these back as soon as we can.

The scanners are going to be working overtime over the next week or 2 to catch up with all the missing achievements, so in the mean time we will be closed to new registrations and restricting forced scans.

We're also asking you to re-verify your email address and to set up a new password. This is just to make sure we have everyone's details up to date.

We have realised that we are going to need a new server as we no longer have the space for a database this size and it's required backups. Any donations are greatly (massively) appreciated to help us with this.

Due to the events of the last week, we are extending the period of time before we announce the new content team.

I want to apologise for the incovenience caused by the last week, I've been doing everything I can to get the site back up and functioning, and if there's anything still not quite right then please be patient!

I also want to thank everyone for their messages of support over Twitter and Live, they've meant a great deal to me while I've been trying to sort things out.

We will need to rebuild some of the site, but together we can do it, and we can do it even better than it was before!

Edit: To those messaging me over Live, I have already reached my limit of messages to people not on my friends list - if you have sent me your email address then please try again after an hour, chances are I will have fixed it. If it takes more than an hour then I am probably asleep, so please come back tomorrow and it will be fixed smile
