While some gamers may still be a bit sad that CD Projekt RED's upcoming trilogy finisher The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been delayed into May
, the developer is buoying excitement with their recent reveal of another playable character, Ciri.
Described as an "ashen-haired girl from an ancient prophecy", Ciri is a descendant of a long lost elven blood lineage. Ciri is capable of both massive destruction and healing and presents a second playable character in the franchise that has, to this point, focused around Geralt of Rivia. In the narrative sense, Ciri will be used to tell parts of the story from a different perspective, but not an alternative story line. The developer is a bit sketchy on exact details of Ciri's abilities at this juncture but has teased that there's a "mythical power" dormant inside of her.
We also have a few other, non-Ciri-focused screenshots for your ocular enjoyment.
Finally, and for good measure, we have a few pieces of concept art.The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
is set for a May 19th release on the Xbox One.
