Koei Tecmo's hack and slash title Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires has already been playing on Japanese Xbox One consoles since November last year. Unfortunately, the game's release date for North America and Europe has suffered a slight delay, moving from January to February. However, alongside this sad news comes a bit of good news as the team have revealed pre-order bonuses for those eager to play the upcoming game.
Various "Edit Parts" will be available via select retailers as bonus DLC. Pre-ordering with GAME will net purchasers the 'Edit Armour Set One' which will be exclusively for male characters. Female characters will have their own set of Edits too with the Edit Armour Set Two for those who pre-order through ShopTo.net. Lastly, the third DLC pack contains the Special Costume Set ("Date Mashamune, Guan Yinping, Guo Jia and Tenko costumes") that comes via pre orders with Independent retailers through CentreSoft.
Sticking with the theme of Edits, let's take a look at one of the newly released trailers. The Edit Scenario Gameplay trailer showcases a few of the title's characters, Meng Huo and Zhurong, riding through the city while Jerzee looks on but is clearly driven in taking this world for himself!
Koei Tecmo has also released their most recent live demo episode. There's just over an hour of pure gameplay as the team keep the focus on the title's Edit mode and take us through just some of the many choices that come through customization. We are also treated to a sample of the "Empire Mode" as the team take on the role of a Ruler.
There will be a whole ton of fighting to do once Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires releases, but thankfully there's plenty of info, options and menus on hand to help us in the upcoming adventure. A new set of screens showcases the different menus and dialogue in conversations with other characters as Xun Yu traverses the landscape and meets new characters.
A new gameplay trailer continues to shine the spotlight on Xun Yu, as he makes short work of large groups of enemies at the same time. Check out a short overview on Xun Yu followed by the gameplay and a few screens of the man himself:
Xun Yu, from the Wei Kingdom, favors the "Formation Rod" and was known as the “King's Gifted Adviser” due to the brilliant strategies and advice he dispensed. His keen insight and large network of acquaintances has made him skilled at evaluatingon people, resulting in the discovery of many adept officers.
Nine new weapons have also been revealed for various characters along with screens to boot and brief details. The weapons provide an impressive range of style including speed, strength, close to long-range combat, countering, and plenty more. Take a look at the gorgeous weaponry as each character puts their preferred weapon to some serious use.
