Sierra, which was relaunched
as Activision's indie publishing brand last year, has today announced that they are set to publish Norwegian studio Rock Pocket Games' puzzle platformer Shiftlings
on Xbox One this spring.
Set in an intergalactic reality show, Shiftlings
stars two space custodians who travel around the cosmos completing complex tasks, all the while linked together by a single air hose that allows them to pass gas back and forth between their space suits. This means that one character can expand in weight and size, making them less mobile but allowing them to solve puzzles and reach new areas. The game features 50 levels in five environments, all of which can be played in single player, local two player co-op and online two player co-op.
Bob Loya, Senior Director of External Development for Sierra, said this on their decision to publish Shiftlings
Shiftlings was the kind of game we immediately knew we wanted to work on after playing it. Rock Pocket’s inventive take on the puzzle platformer epitomises Sierra's focus on finding great indie talent within the development community and giving them access to the tools and platforms they need to share their unique creations with the world.
Alongside this announcement, a trailer has been released for the game:
is set to arrive on the Xbox One sometime this Spring.
