TA Gaming Stats - March 9th to 15th 2015

By Chewie, 2 years ago
This report is for the period March 9th to 15th 2015.

Welcome to the stats for the second full week of March here on TA. Things have been relatively quiet in here since last time's March Madness had taken the Statisticles by the nuts. Mostly because I've since had all of them neutered. We can't have hundreds of baby Ewoks running around the TA treehouse. The Newshounds make enough of a mess as it is.

Games Started
55,603 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 83,242 games between them (2,044 different games).

In its second full week of freeness with "Games with Gold", Rayman Legends drops from over 23,000 to under 6,000 starters, slipping from first to second behind new release Ori and the Blind Forest. The critically acclaimed platformer grabs over 7,200 starters. As an interesting side statistic, it is also currently the joint highest rated game across all platforms here on the site with 4.8 out of 5 stars from community ratings. Other new releases this week include Battlefield Hardline in third with 5,600 starters thanks to an early release through EA Access and DmC: Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition in fifth with 2,100. Unfortunately, neither Jet Car Stunts nor LA Cops get enough starters to make the table.

Dragon Age: Inquisition gets a boost up the table thanks to both a sale and a limited time free trial period. Sales also give Tomb Raider - Definitive Edition and Zombie Driver Ultimate Edition boosts into eighth and ninth places.

"Games with Gold" freebie Tomb Raider drops by over half its starters from nearly 4,000 to under 1,500 but maintains its lead thanks in part to a complete lack of new releases on the 360. Apart from the rest of the list being mostly popular or recent releases and freebies.

The sale also bounces classic platformer Banjo-Kazooie into second with 190 starters, Spelunky into fifth, Joe Danger 2: The Movie into sixth and Zombie Driver HD into seventh, proving that TA'ers are crying out for more unique sale offerings such as these ones.

Top Xbox Live Arcade Games Started

It's the usual shuffle of familiar titles on W8, with the exception being sale title A World of Keflings (Win 8), which jumps into sixth with over 70 starters.

Top Windows Games Started

Make It Rain: The Love of Money (WP) continues to lead the charge by some way, though it drops considerably from 1,000 to under 600 starters this week, signalling that it might not retain the top spot for much longer. Sale title Shoot 1UP (WP) manages to sneak in at the very bottom with 50 starters.

Games Completed
7,854 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 13,773 games between them (1,656 different games).

This week saw the release of the "Valley of the Yetis" DLC for Far Cry 4. I've known a few yetis in my time and let me tell you, they aren't to be trusted. They're like those annoying cousins you pretend aren't actually related to you. When dealing with them there are three simple rules: never look a yeti in the eye, never turn your back on a yeti and never tug on a yeti's scrotum. The DLC puts the game straight to the top of the list with over 370 completions.

Top Xbox One Games Completed

The two recent "Games with Gold" titles share the top spots whilst the Far Cry 4 (Xbox 360) DLC puts the game in fourth with 40 completions. Those damned yetis, getting everywhere.

Top Xbox 360 Games Completed

Arcade again gives us mostly a whole load of the easier games on the platform.

Top Xbox Live Arcade Games Completed

With numbers this low, it matters little what appears really, but sale title World of Keflings does show up in fifth.

Top Windows Games Completed

The Make It Rain achievements again grow this week, this time from 80 to over 110, as more people overcome the early bugs with the game.

Achievements Won
130,325 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 2,092,512 achievements online between them (67,962 different achievements).

The new "Heists" DLC gives Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360) the highest four achievements won, though the other five from the pack don't make the list. Instead Ori claims almost all the other spots, with Rayman popping up at the bottom.

Top Xbox One Achievements Won

The same four "Heists" achievements show up for Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360) but this time the rest of the list is given to Tomb Raider.

Top Xbox 360 Achievements Won

After weeks of clean sweeps, Brothers is finally disrupted. But it's not by another "Games with Gold" title like I predicted. No, it's by a bear and a bird.

Top Xbox Live Arcade Achievements Won

Solitaire and Minion Rush continue to share the list, with a bit of Jigsaw thrown in too.

Top Windows Achievements Won

It's still raining.

Top Windows Phone Achievements Won

Action-Adventure extends its lead from 15 to 19 million whilst the rest of the list stays mostly static. Platformer does gain a million thanks to Ori but stays in third.
