TA Gaming Stats - April 6th to 12th 2015

By Chewie, 2 years ago
This report is for the period April 6th to 12th 2015.

Welcome to the stats for the second week of April here on TA. It's a relatively quiet week this week with little in the way of new releases, though you'd expect the big old Spring Sales to have some sort of impact. The Statisticles and I definitely bit on some of the discounts, particularly with Zoo Tycoon. There's just something about keeping animals in cages and forgetting to feed them or clean them out that appeals to me somehow. And there's something about being in a cage and frollicking in your own poop that appeals to the Statisticles.

Games Started
67,122 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 102,689 games between them (2,046 different games).

After being released in some regions the previous week and appearing in tenth with under 1,500 starters, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin now over doubles those numbers and jumps to fifth after being released elsewhere. Other new releases RIDE and Tower of Guns don't make the table. Apart from that, the table is very similar to last week, just with much lower numbers. Pool Nation FX, Neverwinter (HK), Child of Light and Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious still claim the top four but drop from 16-24,000 starters to 6-8,000. After being added to the EA Access service, NHL 15 pops up in tenth with over 1,200 starters.

The top half of the 360 table is also unchanged, with freebies Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious (Xbox 360) and Gears of War: Judgment leading over previous "Games with Gold" titles. Meanwhile, the week's sale puts Rayman Origins into eighth with 120 starters.

Freebie Terraria (Xbox 360) still leads by a long way, despite dropping from 6,300 to under 2,800. Sales give us a bit more variety with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD in fourth, Serious Sam 3: BFE in seventh, Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse in eighth and Peggle in tenth, with between 50 and 70 starters. Having said that, considering the week's sales were so big, encompassing many discounts across all platforms, I'm surprised not to see more entries as a result of it on these tables.

The same old W8 titles shuffle the deck. Even sale title 4 Elements II: Special Edition (Win 8) doesn't make an appearance, though the previous week's offering, Shark Dash (Win 8), does take ninth.

Top Windows Games Started

Here I was thinking that Make It Rain: The Love of Money (WP)'s reign was finally coming to an end after weeks of declining numbers. Then it goes and increases its starters from 220 to over 370. As on W8, this week's sale title, Mass Effect: Infiltrator (WP), does not appear.

Games Completed
14,181 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 20,860 games between them (1,532 different games).

The Forza F&F completions continue to pour in, keeping it safely in first place, though they do drop from 11,000 to 4,300 this week. Easy freebie Child of Light increases its completions from 550 to 1,200 in second whilst the sale puts MONOPOLY Plus into third.

Top Xbox One Games Completed

Forza F&F leads easily on the 360 too. With no "Seriously" achievement, freebie GoW: Judgment manages to clamber up into third place with over 60 completions, behind Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360) and its Heists boost.

Top Xbox 360 Games Completed

We get a very samey XBLA table with the only real point of note being Terraria popping up in ninth with just under 30 completions.

Top Xbox Live Arcade Games Completed

Last week's sale title Shark Dash continues to ride high in second with its easy completion. Everything else is much of a muchness.

Top Windows Games Completed

Shark Dash again takes second whilst, like on the started table, Make it Rain increases its completions, this time from 60 to 120.

Top Windows Phone Games Completed

Achievements Won
134,428 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 2,250,516 achievements online between them (65,786 different achievements).

The One achievements are mostly the same this week, just with lower numbers. However, Neverwinter and Pool Nation do swap places at the top.

Top Xbox One Achievements Won

Forza F&F sweeps the table clean yet again.

Top Xbox 360 Achievements Won

Terraria again claims all the places with the same achievements, though Home Sweet Home and Terraria Expert do swap places in third and fourth.

Top Xbox Live Arcade Achievements Won

Although Solitaire does again take the lion's share of places, this week more places are challenged by other titles.

Top Windows Achievements Won

Rain rain go away, come again never.

Top Windows Phone Achievements Won

After double Forza freebies put Racing at the top for two weeks running, this week it drops to second below other riser, Role-Playing, which is boosted by both Neverwinter and Dark Souls II. Normal table leaders Shooter and Action-Adventure again settle for third and fourth, though they are nipping at Racing's heels.
