TA Gaming Stats - April 20th to 26th 2015

By Chewie, 1 year ago
This report is for the period April 20th to 26th 2015.

What ho everyone. Welcome to a double bill of stats from here on TA (part two here). That's right, this week you get two for one. But only because last week you got none for none thanks to it being a Star Wars Day celebration weekend for me and the Statisticles, including a shameless piece of spotlight hogging by yours truly.

Games Started
60,837 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 93,010 games between them (2,090 different games).

New release Happy Wars smashes to the top of the table, grabbing almost 13,000 starters. The week's other big release, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China, settles for third with 3,300 starters, which seems fairly low considering how established the franchise is, but I suppose it's not really a main entry. Other new releases Aaru's Awakening and Infinity Runner don't get a look-in. Meanwhile, the previous week's new release, Mortal Kombat X, slips considerably in numbers from over 18,700 down to 3,500, but that's still enough to keep it high in the table at second.

In recent months, NBA 2K15 has been discounted quite a few times, including a contentious Christmas Day sale. None of those numerous sales have put it back on the table though. Over the weekend of the 24th it was offered with the ultimate discount of free, finally giving it a spot in seventh with almost 2,400 starters.

With nothing in the way of new releases on the 360, "Games with Gold" mostly dominates. Current freebies Army of TWO: The Devil's Cartel and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (Xbox 360) continue to lead above recent release Goat Simulator (Xbox 360).

Top Xbox 360 Games Started

It's a similar story on XBLA with previous freebie Terraria (Xbox 360) leading despite dropping from 1,200 to 500 starters.

Top Xbox Live Arcade Games Started

Four months after the WP version was released, Tiny Troopers (Win 8) blasts onto W8, grabbing first place with 370 starters, above the previous week's new release, Halo: Spartan Strike (Win 8). For some reason, Asphalt 8: Airborne (Win 8) jumps up from fifth to third and doubles its starters but for the life of me I don't know why. Was it released in some extra regions?

Top Windows Games Started

Halo: Spartan Strike (iOS) still leads on WP with no new releases to challenge it. The extra starters for Tiny Troopers on W8 also gives Tiny Troopers (WP) a boost up from seventh with 70 starters to third with 120, despite the achievements not being linked.

Top Windows Phone Games Started

Games Completed
10,168 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 16,031 games between them (1,553 different games).

A sale and an easy completion put Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) in fourth with 370 completions behind the same three as last week. An achievement-fixing patch shoots Zombie Army Trilogy up to fifth with over 200 completions.

Top Xbox One Games Completed

A fairly simple completion helps Army of TWO: The Devil's Cartel clamber up from fifth to second, going from 40 to over 280 completions. As GTASC begins to gear up a bit, people are starting to dip more into the bucket of easy completions. With not much else being played on the 360 this gives way to classic easy completion Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Burning Earth in tenth.

Top Xbox 360 Games Completed

There's still really not much to see here as Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons continues to lead over other easy titles, including most of Telltale's back catalogue.

Top Xbox Live Arcade Games Completed

Tiny Troopers (Win 8) slips into third in its debut week, behind Halo: Spartan Strike (Win 8).

Top Windows Games Completed

Halo: Spartan Strike (iOS) lands in second with 30 completions, while Make It Rain: The Love of Money (WP) continues its reign.

Top Windows Phone Games Completed

Achievements Won
127,882 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 2,111,576 achievements online between them (67,896 different achievements).

Happy Wars almost makes a clean sweep except for a single Mortal Kombat achievement right at the bottom.

Top Xbox One Achievements Won

Like the previous week, Army of Two claims nine spots whilst AC IV grabs the final one. This time, however, it's eighth place rather than third that belongs to the pirates.

Top Xbox 360 Achievements Won

Yeh, yeh, Terraria.

Top Xbox Live Arcade Achievements Won

Tiny Troopers grabs five places, including the top two. Halo, Asphalt 8 and Solitaire duke it out for the remaining spots.

Top Windows Achievements Won

It's the same story as the previous week with Halo taking the top spot above nine Make It Rain achievements.

Top Windows Phone Achievements Won

After grabbing the top spot in the previous week, Action remains on top. This time though, Shooter and Action-Adventure manage to claw their way back above Role-Playing into second and third. Literally every spot in the bottom six remains unchanged.
