TA Gaming Stats - April 27th to May 3rd 2015

By Chewie, 1 year ago
This report is for the period April 27th to May 3rd 2015.

Welcome to the second part of this week's stats here on TA, this time covering the very end of April into the beginning of May.

Games Started
64,293 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 101,085 games between them (2,120 different games).

New release State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition manages to grab over 10,000 starters but it doesn't quite make the top spot as new "Games with Gold" freebie CastleStorm – Definitive Edition steals nearly 13,000. Another new release, Shovel Knight, manages fourth though it only grabs 2,000 starters, which is frankly criminal seeing how highly rated it is (by us, at least). The third new release of the week is Project Root, which just makes it onto the table in tenth with 1,000 starters.

The "Games with Gold" changeover on the 360 puts new freebie Mafia II in first with approaching 2,500 starters. No other new releases makes the rest of the table mostly dedicated to previous freebies.

Though Terraria (Xbox 360) still rules the table, the rest is a bit more varied than recent weeks. Instead of the vast slew of Telltale titles, we get Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition boosted into second with almost 190 starters thanks to a recent achievement-increasing Title Update. Sales give us four spots on the table with DuckTales Remastered (Arcade), Resident Evil Revelations 2 (Xbox 360), Strider (Xbox 360) and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix all discounted and grabbing between 60 and 180 starters. New release RISK (Xbox 360) appears mid-table with only around 60 starters. I guess releasing it to the 360 wasn't really a...risk...that paid off. BOOM BOOM.

Top Xbox Live Arcade Games Started

The newly released Tiny Troopers (Win 8) maintains a strong lead this week with almost 250 starters, whilst other recent release Halo: Spartan Strike (Win 8) starts to take a tumble down from second to fourth.

Top Windows Games Started

This week we're spoiled by not one but two new releases on WP. Hitman GO (WP) proves the more popular of the two with over 420 starters, whilst Overkill 3 (WP) grabs second place with 100 fewer. Take that Make It Rain: The Love of Money (WP)! Halo: Spartan Strike (iOS) drops even further than it does on W8, falling all the way from first place down to the bottom of the table. Despite being on offer many times before, sale title Mush (WP) grabs fifth place.

Games Completed
9,290 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 14,208 games between them (1,510 different games).

One games completed doesn't give us a huge amount to shout about as it's mostly the same stuff as the last few weeks. No new releases make the table. However, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition turning up in ninth suggests a surge of completions related to the new content being added over on the 360. Also, despite appearing only briefly on the started table when it was released, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China now appears here after grabbing over 100 completions.

Top Xbox One Games Completed

The 360 gives us even less to talk about as, barring the same top three as last week, the rest of the numbers are so low and so close as to be interchangeable.

Top Xbox 360 Games Completed

XBLA on the other hand gives us a new leader to show the rest how its done. Within days of it being released, almost 580 players wrapped up all the new achievements in Minecraft, putting it very comfortably in first.

Top Xbox Live Arcade Games Completed

A week after release, Tiny Troopers climbs up from third to first as it pulls in almost 50 completions.

Top Windows Games Completed

Although Hitman GO kicked Make It Rain down the table on games started, it can't quite manage the same here, though second place with over 20 completions isn't bad going. Maybe next week it'll take the lead.

Top Windows Phone Games Completed

Achievements Won
126,309 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 2,057,761 achievements online between them (65,871 different achievements).

State of Decay and Castlestorm share the table equally with the former claiming the top two spots.

Top Xbox One Achievements Won

Mafia II grabs seven spots on the table, with Army of Two mopping up the remaining three in third, fifth and ninth.

Top Xbox 360 Achievements Won

The Minecraft "Title Update" accounts for all the achievements in the game's clean sweep. Finally Terraria gets lost.

Top Xbox Live Arcade Achievements Won

With Halo dropping down the numbers, Solitaire fills in the gaps where Tiny Troopers don't dare to tread.

Top Windows Achievements Won

Hitman and Overkill share most of the table, though Make It Rain does manage to sneak into the bottom three.

Top Windows Phone Achievements Won

After Racing and Action both took the crown from the usual suspects in recent weeks, Action-Adventure manages to pull it back thanks to State of Decay and Mafia. Shooter gets held in third though as Minecraft pushes Simulation onto the table and into second place. Castlestorm also gives Strategy a boost from tenth to sixth.
