This report is for the period May 11th to 17th 2015
Welcome to the stats for the middle of May, right here on TA. Oh, I made a rhyme. I also made a new layout. Yes, after a few years of the same format for these articles, things were getting a little tired and, with the introduction of extra platforms, more than a little bloated and unwieldy. Like the Statisticles
after I feed them uncooked rice followed by a few pints of water.
I've diddled the tables around so they're now grouped by platform instead. This means you can see all the stats for the platforms you care about in one place. It also means I can keep my commentary leaner with platform round-ups, rather than a line for every single table. This should free me up to do more articles (like reintroducing monthlies) and maybe some special tables again. Let me know what you think in the comments. The Big Numbers
53,209 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 79,184 games between them (2,157 different games).
8,446 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 13,517 games between them (1,525 different games).
122,074 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 1,790,350 achievements online between them (67,761 different achievements).Xbox One
This week saw the release of a new free-to-play title on the Xbox One. Well, not entirely new as AirMech Arena (Xbox 360)
was released last July. Over on the One though, AirMech Arena
is the most started title with over 7,400 starters. It also claims the four spots on Achievements Won, including the top two. Being a free-to-play grindfest means it doesn't make it to the Completed table though. Released in more territories this week, Project CARS
holds third whilst Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
slides down from second to fifth. However, whilst it drops there, it rises on Completed, going from tenth with under 100 to fourth with over 170 completions.
One of the week's other new releases, indie title Lifeless Planet
, does well by being the fourth most started game with almost 2,000 starters. It also proves not too difficult as it pops up in eighth on Completed with 100 completions. None of the week's other new releases, Schrödinger's Cat and the Raiders of the Lost Quark
, make the tables.Top Xbox One Games StartedTop Xbox One Games CompletedTop Xbox One Achievements WonXbox 360
This week saw the "Games with Gold" changeover on the 360 as F1 2013
takes the freebie mantle and therefore the top spot above previous offering Mafia II
. It doesn't exactly sweep the Achievements though, with Mafia
claiming the eight most earned achievement slots behind the top two.
Previous freebies continue to dominate the rest of the tables. Amongst them is The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
at the bottom, no doubt buoyed by interest in the new instalment.Top Xbox 360 Games Started Top Xbox 360 Games CompletedTop Xbox 360 Achievements WonXBLA
Recent release Goat Simulator (Xbox 360)
switches tables this week, jumping from the retail to arcade because, well because we'd misclassified it before. Although they have nothing to do with that side of things, I blame the Statisticles
because...well, just because. With the switchover it leads above recent freebie Terraria (Xbox 360)
as the most started XBLA game.
Recent sale titles and last week's top two, Double Dragon Neon
and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
, continue to hold positions in third and sixth, with the latter also remaining the fourth most completed title.Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition
remains the actually most played title however, retaining the clean sweep on Achievements Won and leading the Completed table by a wide margin, despite dropping by over 200 completions from 500 to under 280.Top Xbox Live Arcade Games Started Top Xbox Live Arcade Games CompletedTop Xbox Live Arcade Achievements WonWindows
After being spoiled by a couple of new releases in the last few weeks, things quieten down again on Windows. Those two new releases, Tiny Troopers (Win 8)
and Hitman GO (Win 8)
, remain the most popular starters and hold high spots on Completed, grabbing second and fourth. However Microsoft Solitaire Collection (Win 8)
continues to muscle in as the third most started title and grabbing four Achievements Won slots. Following the boost in completions last week after the first opportunity to earn Go For The Bronze
came along, Microsoft Sudoku (Win 8)
drops down from first off the Completed table entirely. It would seem that either people were earning those medals from the start and earned it in last week's table or they weren't bothering too much.
Although not popular enough to make the Started or Achievements Won tables, sale title Pac-Man Championship Edition DX (Win 8)
is an easy enough completion to make third on the Completed table with over 20 completions.Top Windows Games Started Top Windows Games CompletedTop Windows Achievements WonWindows Phone
Following last week's drop in numbers Hitman GO (WP)
again loses starters this week and this time loses the top spot to Tiny Troopers (WP)
, settling instead for sixth with its under 70, behind other recent release Overkill 3 (WP)
. It remains the second most completed game, though. After being made easier with a recent update, Angry Birds Stella (WP)
remains the fourth most completed game whilst Pac-Man Championship Edition DX (WP)
pulls the same trick here that it did over on Windows, but this time as the fifth most completed title. Tiny Troopers
manages to block Make It Rain
from a clean sweep over on Achievements Won by grabbing a single spot in second.Top Windows Phone Games Started Top Windows Phone Games CompletedTop Windows Phone Achievements WonGenres
Action-Adventure and Shooter further cement their regained control of the top of the table this week as the Action numbers fall, dropping it from third to fourth. Role-Playing is biding its time in third though, as it knows there's a certain Geralt waiting in the wings to give it a big boost. Although Minecraft
still dominates XBLA, the numbers have declined enough to see Simulation drop from fifth to seventh.Total TrueAchievements won by Genre
That's all for this week, folks! Let me know what you think of the new layout in the comments. Next week we'll be seeing how The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
ranks against Farming Simulator 15
, Spy Chameleon
and Mega Coin Squad
