TA Gaming Stats - May 18th to 24th 2015

By Chewie, 2 years ago
This report is for the period May 18th to 24th 2015.

Welcome to a double dip of stats this week as I was on holiday all of last week getting my tan on (yes I do get a tan underneath the fur). I was completely cut off from the internet, TV and other forms of communication while I was gone so I'm not entirely sure what I missed but I hear there was a big falling out. My Ewok helpers, the Statisticles, are still on holiday so I'm on my lonesome this week. Well, I say holiday, I mean I forgot to leave some food out while I was away...

Following the positive reaction to the new layout in the last edition we're going to be sticking to the new platform based format. Huzzah! This also means that, starting from June's edition we'll be reintroducing the monthly reports and maybe even occasionally slipping in some guest stats. You lucky so-and-so's.

The Big Numbers
58,412 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 80,736 games between them (2,157 different games).

7,516 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 12,081 games between them (1,530 different games).

121,546 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 1,591,775 achievements online between them (67,648 different achievements).

Xbox One
New release The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt hits the tables with rave reviews and decent numbers as it's started by over 20,500 TA'ers and sweeps the Achievements Won table. With so much content in the game to get through I think it'll be unlikely to appear on the Completed table ever but stranger things have happened. One of the week's other new releases, Farming Simulator 15, makes an appearance with 800 starters in seventh but other new releases Mega Coin Squad and Spy Chameleon fail to make an impact.

Sales help make Jet Car Stunts the fourth most started game with 900 starters and also put Unmechanical: Extended Edition as the third most completed title with over 180 completions.

Recent release Project CARS slips off the table entirely leaving other recent releases Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and Mortal Kombat X, as well as current and previous freebies to take the rest of the places.

The release of the "House of Wolves" expansion seems to have helped boost the completions of Destiny, making it the sixth most completed title with over 110 completions.

Xbox 360
New "Games with Gold" freebie F1 2013 remains firmly the most started game on the 360 with over 3,200 starters. It also claims the top four and tenth achievements won, with the rest going to previous freebie Mafia II. The rest of the Started table is almost entirely dominated by previous freebies, with the exception of Destiny (Xbox 360) right at the bottom.

With both the GTASC and Leap Frog competitions heating up, it's little wonder that the notoriously short completion Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Burning Earth turns up at the bottom of the Completed table as people cash in the easy points.

Terraria (Xbox 360) reclaims the top spot as the most started game above Goat Simulator (Xbox 360). Meanwhile sale title SoulCalibur II HD Online claims the number three position with over 110 starters. With its third episode released, Life Is Strange (Xbox 360) gets a boost in completions, taking the top spot with 230. Even with those titles at the top of their respective tables, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition remains the most played game, again sweeping the Achievements Won table.

Recent release Hitman GO (Win 8) tumbles down the Started table from second to ninth whilst Tiny Troopers (Win 8) holds firm in first. This means Hitman also abandons the Achievements Won table, leaving Tiny Troopers to share it with a variety of Microsoft titles. Agent 47 does manage to gain some ground on Completed though as it rises from fourth with under 20 to third with over 20 completions.

Over on WP, Make It Rain: The Love of Money (WP) reclaims the top spot from Tiny Troopers (WP) and again sweeps the Achievements Won table. Recent release Overkill 3 (WP) slips from fifth most started to tenth whilst Hitman GO (WP) takes a smaller drop from sixth to seventh.

After regaining its hold in second a couple of weeks ago, Shooter has to make way for Role-Playing this week thanks to Geralt's return. It's very close though, with only less than 4,000 separating them. Elsewhere, as the Air Mech Arena and Castlestorm numbers drop, Strategy loses ground, falling from fifth to seventh.
