Note About Our Witcher 3 Review

By Jonathan Barnes,
Greetings TAers!

If you're one of the hundreds, nay thousands, who have been waiting with bated breath for our review of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I have some good news and some bad news.

Good News - The game is massive, deep, and full of stuff. The pre-release hype of "over 200 hours of gameplay" is certainly ringing true during my review playthrough.

Bad News - Because of all of that content, our review is going to be a little later than expected.

We received the review code late last Monday night and after downloading the game through the night, I've spent every evening last week as well as marathoning through the entire long weekend and have amassed close to 40 hours in the game while focusing almost exclusively on the main story. At this point (after chatting with other reviewers), I'm deducing that I'm about 2/3rds of the way through.

Yes, that's right, the game has probably a 60 hour critical path... not including a RIDICULOUS number of secondary quests, Witcher contracts, and other side items.

Anyway, I'm hoping to finish up the game and have a review ready for the weekend, but in the meantime if you have any questions about the game in advance of the review, feel free to leave them in the comments and I'll pop back throughout the week to answer those that I can!

We've got the full list of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt achievements - check the list for guides to unlocking them.
