The Swapper Release Date Confirmed

By Ashley Woodcock,
Two university students, Olli Harjola and Otto Hantula, developed and brought to life the critically acclaimed puzzler that is The Swapper. After receiving great reception from PC fans when it was launched back in 2013, thanks to its story, level design and visual style, the title will now be making its way to the Xbox One.

The story takes place on Theseus, "a damaged space station and research facility". Players will need to explore the station and solve a large variety of puzzles. There's an interesting twist however as players will be able to create up to four clones of their character and switch between each one to help solve the puzzles. The environment will be unique with its "claustrophobic, dark and atmospheric environment". The artwork itself was put together using " hand-crafted materials and clay" further adding to the unique visuals the game will offer. Jason Perkins, Managing Director of Curve Digital, is happy with the feedback the game has received so far:

The game has received almost universally exceptional feedback from press and public alike, and the opportunity to bring it to a new console audience proved irresistible. It’s a truly astonishing game which leaves an impact long after it has been completed and we can’t wait to see how the Xbox One audience embraces it.
