Unepic Coming To Xbox One Four Years After Debut

This is new. Excluding re-releases and HD remakes I'm not sure that we've ever seen a game hit the new release section of the download store this long after its original release. Unepic, a fantasy RPG side-scroller built primarily from the mind of one person, is coming to Xbox One four years after it first hit any platform.

unepic 1

Unepic tells the story of Daniel, a typical 20-something man whose interests include gaming, beer, and the opposite sex. When he begins to hallucinate during a tabletop gaming session, he assumes one of his friends has drugged him as a joke, but he ends up liking it and exploring the unreal fantasy realm while it lasts. Along the way, he starts to wonder if it even is a hallucination or if maybe the dragons, skeletons, and swordplay are really happening. With several boss battles, 200 rooms, 100 weapons, and a comical story full of pop culture references, game designer Francisco Téllez de Meneses is hoping his brainchild catches on with the Xbox crowd.

As the game is four years old, there's plenty of gameplay and imagery available online for those seeking it. Here's a trailer from its initial PC release.

No release date has yet been mentioned.
