Rhythm meets racing in Gateway Interactive’s upcoming chiptune racing game Spectra
. The title challenges players to navigate procedurally generated levels where “staying sharp is essential and reaction timing vital as memory is obsolete”. Each level is generated using unique music tracks from chiptune artist legend Chipzel.
The title was first revealed at last year’s San Francisco GDC, with a handful of details
following in the months afterwards. Since then, things have been quiet. The developer has now released a new trailer and a selection of screenshots that show off the game’s retro-style graphics.
Lastly, Gateway Interactive has confirmed that Spectra
will be launching on the Xbox One through the ID@Xbox self-publishing program on July 10th.
