In the month since the Kickstarter for Koji Igarashi's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was successfully launched and funded, gamers eager to see the project come to life have contributed over $5,000,000 (over ten times the original target of $500,000) and unlocked a variety of stretch goals. From the original voice of Alucard from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and David Hayter of Metal Gear Solid fame lending their talents to the game to an orchestral score, all sort of new bonuses are being made available thanks to the generosity of backers.
At the $4,500,000 level, backers unlocked a prequel mini-game that will be coming to consoles. The game, which doesn't have its own title as yet, will focus on "the world of Bloodstained before Miriam awoke from her coma." It will be presented in a 2D pixel-based style and feature "retro-styled" gameplay. While it is called a mini-game, it will operate more along the lines of a Dead Rising 2: Case Zero where it will be a stand alone title to support the main game.
Backers who opted to back at the $28 level or above will receive this additional game at no extra cost once it is released. The Kickstarter has about nine hours to go and is currently sitting at just over $5,000,000, which unlocked a Roguelike Dungeon Mode. A final stretch goal, set for $5,500,000, will unlock a Boss Revenge Mode that will allow players to take on the role of the game's bosses.
