Bean Dive 2015 Details

By Dave Horobin,
July is almost here and, for hundreds of TA members, that means the start of one thing! That's right people, the sixth Annual International Bean Dive Event is now almost upon us, and I'm here to tell you how you can join in with the madness when the event officially begins on Saturday, July 4th.

Bean Dive 2015

For those of you that are already fully aware of what our Annual International Bean Dive Event entails, registration is simple. Head over to the Bean Dive Hub and click the "Start My Dive" button once the event official begins.

Once clicked, we'll instantly capture your current TA stats and begin tracking your Bean Dive stats. To add a game to your dive simply pop one achievement (or as few as possible, but ideally one) in each of them, and they will automatically be included in your Bean Dive stats. Once you've added your last game, clicking the "Finished Dive" button in the Bean Dive Hub will allow the site to start tracking your road to recovery, and a message will appear on your friend feed with the total number of games added and your total completion percentage drop.

For those of you currently scratching your heads and wondering what Bean Dive day is, it's a community wide event that was originally brought to life six years ago by Beanpotter. The idea is that you add any games in your ever increasing backlog to your GamerTag by popping a single achievement in each one. Whilst starting all of those previously forgotten games and finally getting your monies worth out of them is great, it will obviously result in your completion percentage taking a hit. You then have one year to work through as many of those newly added games as possible to try and recover your completion percentage decrease to its former glory.

This year we also have the new My Games Collection feature that was added to the site yesterday which can be used to plan your dive, and to also help you keep track of your recovery. With a week to go until registration officially opens, you have plenty of time to add in all of the games in your backlog for your own tracking and preparation.

If you want to find out more information about this year's Bean Dive, or give Mr. Potter abuse for having a mind so warped that he would encourage you to destroy your hard earned completion percentage stats (actually don't do that, he's a moderator and will just ban you), head over to the Bean Dive forums or take a look at the handy FAQs thread here.

Registration for the event official begins on Saturday July 4th at 00:00 (GMT+0) and will close eight days later on July 12th at 23:59 (GMT+0). We'll post a reminder once registration opens, and then again a day or two before the registration closes, but in the meantime feel free to share you past Bean Dive day experiences and let us know how many games you intend to dive in the comments below.

You can also follow the event and share your progress with the TA Community on:

- Twitter, with the hashtag #TABeanDive
- Facebook on the Events tab
- Google+ on our dedicated Events page.

Whatever your network of choice, be sure to dive in and meet some more of the TA community.
