This report is for the period June 29th to July 5th 2015
Hello and welcome to El Stats from here on TA for the week crossing the end of June into the beginning of July. This was a pretty quiet week on the new release front so it'll be mostly up to the existing titles to fight it out, apart from WP and Windows, which do get some new blood. Last week I said that the stats for the whole of June would be coming now but, due to unforeseen circumstances (involving chocolate drops, a wood chipper and a fistful of Statisticles
), it'll be delayed by another week. My sincerest apologies. Can I offer you some chocolatey fur juice? The Big Numbers
58,924 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 92,293 games between them (2,308 different games).
7,738 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 12,496 games between them (1,549 different games).
134,111 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 2,054,725 achievements online between them (69,645 different achievements).Xbox One
With no big new releases, the newest Games with Gold freebie Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
takes the lead as the most started game with 11,400 starters. It doesn't exactly sweep the Achievements Won table though, only claiming the number one spot whilst the second most started title, recent release Batman: Arkham Knight
, takes the rest. Bats also debuts on Completed a week after release in eighth as over 100 players finished the game already.
Although neither game appears on the Started table, smaller releases Quiplash
came out this week. Both are easy completions though so they do appear in fifth and seventh on Completed.
The free trial version of No Time To Explain
was released a few weeks ahead of the full version and, much to some people's frustrations, it includes a "gimme" achievement
that unlocks upon starting it. That puts the game as eighth most started as 1,000 players picked up the "gimme" and will forever have the game on their tag whether they buy the full version or not.The week's sale
puts Thomas Was Alone
as the third most started game and, thanks to it being a very easy completion (66% of players have finished it), the most completed. The sale also gives us Peggle 2
as the ninth most started, whilst Another World: 20th Anniversary Edition
remains high on Completed thanks to an earlier sale.Top Xbox One Games StartedTop Xbox One Games CompletedTop Xbox One Achievements WonXbox 360
Games with Gold freebie THIEF (Xbox 360)
continues its reign over previous offerings, again sharing the Achievements Won list with Just Cause 2
. Two new entries are Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare (Xbox 360)
and Mirror's Edge
as the fourth and fifth most started games with only a single starter between them thanks to being offered in the week's sale.Top Xbox 360 Games StartedTop Xbox 360 Games CompletedTop Xbox 360 Achievements WonXBLA
on Games with Gold this week was Plants vs. Zombies
, which smashes onto the XBLA tables with over 6,700 starters. With so many starters and as a relatively short completion, it also crops up in fourth on Completed with almost 50 completions and nearly sweeps Achievements Won, with three Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition
achievements denying it.
Since the first episode was made free, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series (Xbox 360)
remains high as the third most started game, sitting behind previous Games with Gold and current backwards compatible title BattleBlock Theater
. The new episode for Tales from the Borderlands (Xbox 360)
keeps it at the top of Completed for a second week though the completions have dropped by 200 from 370 to 170.
Sales put Peggle 2 (Xbox 360)
as the fourth most started title with almost 200 starters.Top Xbox Live Arcade Games StartedTop Xbox Live Arcade Games CompletedTop Xbox Live Arcade Achievements WonWindows
Following the previous week's new Gameloft releases Dragon Mania Legends (Win 8)
and Dungeon Hunter 5 (Win 8)
, this week we get two more with Age of Sparta (Win 8)
and Modern Combat 5: Blackout (Win 8)
. Three of them do well in the top four with Make It Rain: The Love of Money (Win 8)
, and Sparta
fill up Achievements Won. Dungeon Hunter
doesn't do so well, settling for ninth.Top Windows Games StartedTop Windows Games CompletedTop Windows Achievements WonWindows PhoneAge of Sparta (WP)
and Modern Combat 5: Blackout (WP)
both make their way to WP too and, like their Windows versions, grab first and fourth. It seems as though both have cross-platform unlocks so the numbers will be boosting each other. Sparta
also controls most of Achievements Won, grabbing the top six spots. Some would say that was madness. Leonidas begs to differ
.Top Windows Phone Games Started Top Windows Phone Games CompletedTop Windows Phone Achievements WonGenres
With no major new releases, the top of Genre remains pretty stable this week. The only big change is that Platformer leaps up from eighth to fifth thanks mostly to the boost in Thomas Was Alone
numbers. Total TrueAchievements won by Genre
That's all for this week. Next week looks to be a fairly quiet one too as Spectra
and F1 2015
are the only new releases. Roll on the next wave of big releases so I can go and wake up the Statisticles
