The Escapists: The Walking Dead Revealed

By Michelle Balsan, 3 years ago
As it turns, out, The Walking Dead is a pretty big deal. Big enough that it leaped from its comic book pages and on to the small screen, turning out a hit TV show. It came as little surprise, then, that games based on the Walking Dead universe would soon follow. In some cases, these games have been tremendous hits, such as Telltale's The Walking Dead, while in other cases, such as Terminal Reality's The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, the game didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations set up by its counterparts. In addition to those, a survival-horror take on the franchise, OVERKILL's The Walking Dead, is also currently in development.

Now, what if you're a fan of The Walking Dead, but none of those gaming iterations appeal to you? Well, you now have yet another option to choose from as Team 17 has revealed that they will be bringing The Escapists: The Walking Dead to Xbox One.

Team 17 has stated that this is not an expansion to The Escapists, which was released this February, but its own standalone game that uses the styles and sensibilities of The Escapists' platform. The goal is still to escape, but also to do so while surviving the zombie hordes. Players will take on the role of Rick Grimes and will feature many other characters from the original comic book cast.
