Recently we brought you the beta results
for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
, breaking down the massive amounts of fragging, frag-tagging, and curb stomping that ensued between beta participants in preparation for the upcoming release.
To keep your chainsaws spinning until launch, The Coalition has released a dev diary as well as an announcement of a console bundle. The bundle includes a download code for the game and a standard Xbox One unit, albeit with the newly-revised controller, for those of you who have held off this long from jumping in. It also includes early access to the Gears of War 4
MP Beta, the Superstar Cole multiplayer skin, and a 14-day gold trial.
The dev diary is the first of a nine-part series, wherein the developers give us some insight into their goals with the re-workings of the game’s cinematic sequences. Without spoiling anything too much for you (can I spoil a game from 2005?), let’s just say that this one focuses on a pretty gruesome scene that makes the bad guy a really, really bad guy. Check out the video below and see for yourself how the extra rendering power will enhance these sequences.
Last but not least, for those of you that can't get enough Gears
footage, the nearly hour-long Sand Diego Comic Con panel can be seen below.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
curb stomps its way onto Xbox One and Windows 10 on August 25th.
