TA Gaming Stats - July 13th to 19th 2015

This report is for the period July 13th to 19th 2015.
Welcome to the stats for the middle of July here on TA. After some quiet weeks, this week saw a whole bunch of new releases though, frustratingly, many of them don't make an appearance thanks to their relative obscurity compared to some of the bigger titles. I'm tempted to make my Ewok helpers, the Statisticles, start up all these new indie titles to boost the numbers a bit. However, seeing as they all share one account between them I don't think it'll make much difference.

The Big Numbers
66,327 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 104,616 games between them (2,290 different games).

8,455 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 13,546 games between them (1,567 different games).

134,447 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 2,037,124 achievements online between them (68,504 different achievements).

Xbox One
Starting this month, Games with Gold titles will also be adding freebies on the One mid-month, meaning we'll see more of the program consistently on these articles. So Many Me takes up the discount first, grabbing over 23,500 starters. The number of achievements earned in the game drops off dramatically after the first few so it only claims the top four spots on Achievements Won. Despite that and its low completion percentage (2% of players have finished it), it manages to be the fourth most completed title with 200 completions.

After it was release early the previous week for EA Access members, EA SPORTS Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR saw a full release this week, allowing it to stay steady at 3,400 starters and retain second on Games Started. The other new release of the week, No Time To Explain, takes eighth with over 900 starters; a number no doubt boosted thanks to the first achievement being unlocked in the game's demo/trial thingy. The week saw a bunch of other new releases, including the Prototype and Prototype 2 remasters, Tachyon Project, SlashDash and The Fall. None of them are popular enough to make the started table, though The Fall does manage to make an appearance as the ninth most completed title with approaching 150 completions.

The week's sale gives Tomb Raider - Definitive Edition a boost into sixth with 1,600 starters while two of the previous week's offerings, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and Far Cry 4, sit in ninth and tenth.

Three weeks after release, Batman: Arkham Knight makes its first appearance on the completed table in eighth with nearly 180 completions. This is thanks to the newly released and easy to finish "Batgirl: A Matter of Family" DLC, which also manages to claim half the spots on Achievements Won.

Xbox 360
On the 360 it's Gears of War 3 that becomes the new Games with Gold freebie, grabbing over 1,100 starters and sweeping all the Achievements Won. Interestingly more people reached Level 10 than Level 5, suggesting that a good proportion of players had already made a start in the game

Recent sale title Far Cry 4 (Xbox 360) remains on the started table in ninth whilst other sale title Murdered: Soul Suspect (Xbox 360) appears as the eighth most completed game.

Previous Games with Gold freebie Plants vs. Zombies continues to dominate with 1,300 starters, 120 completions and three spots on Achievements Won.

The free first episode of Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series (Xbox 360) keeps the game high as the second most started title, grabbing four places on Achievements Won too.

XBLA gets a new release this week in Guncraft: Blocked and Loaded, which was launched at a 33% discount, helping it become the eighth most started title with almost 100 starters.

The previous week's new release Age of Sparta (Win 8) slides down from second to sixth this week on Windows whilst Dragon Mania Legends (Win 8) continues to rule, maintaining around 130 starters and seven spots on Achievements Won. It also makes its first appearance on Completed in fourth with 15 completions.

The beginnings of people getting Windows 10 on their PCs also sees Microsoft Solitaire Collection (Win 8) getting a boost, including a spot with the fourth most won achievement.

The previous week's new release Tiny Troopers 2: Special Ops (WP) actually manages to increase its numbers this week, going from 430 to 560 starters, though it doesn't fare much better on Achievements Won, grabbing only three places including the top two. What in the World? (WP) still dominates there and on Completed, though Dragon Mania Legends (WP) does manage to grab third with 25 completions.
