Games With Gold For August Revealed

By Mark Delaney, 2 years ago
For some, the end of the month means bills are due, but don't let that get in the way of what's more important: Games with Gold announcements. August's lineup has been revealed (hooray!) This month, Gold subscribers are treated to a prequel, a current gen port, and an entire series. Don't forget this means the run of July's games will lose their free status on August 1st, with the exception of So Many Me, which will remain free until August 15th.

For the entire month of August, Xbox One owners can download Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes just in time before The Phantom Pain releases in September. Kojima's apparent swansong with Konami should go out with a bang, and it all starts with Ground Zeroes. In the middle of the month until the middle of September, How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition will also be free. The sandbox survival game has players explore a would-be beautiful island if it weren't for the hordes of undead. Don't forget your flashlight.

On the Xbox 360 side, gamers will travel to the Russian underground for a double dose of the Metro series. Metro 2033 will naturally come first, free through the 15th. Then on the 16th, the sequel Metro: Last Light drops to the low, low price of free as well.

Pretty awesome lineup this month, yeah?
