German PC gamers might be familiar with King Art Games' Book of Unwritten Tales
, a 2009 fantasy point-and-click that received wide acclaim. Six years later, a sequel arrived and built on the original's framework of spoofing some of the most beloved works in the fantasy genre. That sequel is now headed to consoles, announced King Art Games.
Using multi-character story-driven adventure gaming, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2
looks to playfully goof on popular properties like Lord of the Rings
, Harry Potter
, Game of Thrones
, World of Warcraft
, and more. The series is known for its lighter tone, which is apparent in both the series paradoxical name as well as the colorful art design you can see in the screenshots below.
The publisher, Nordic Games, had this to say on the sequel:
Legend foretold it. Prophecies predicted it. Chosen ones chose to believe in it. Now the adventure saga continues. A sequel is coming. A sequel to one of the most acclaimed fantasy spoof adventure games in the history of fantasy spoof adventure games. Help Wilbur, Ivo, Nate and Critter fulfill their yet unwritten destiny.
The game will be playable in English or its native German language. No release date has been confirmed just yet.
