For those of you that have looked at Crackdown 2
's Avatar Awards will probably already know that there is a second DLC pack coming for the game: the Deluge Add-On.
Releasing on November 16th, the Deluge pack will be priced the same as the Toy Box was
- free trial version of the DLC for everyone to dip their toe in the water, with the full pack costing you 560 MSP, rewarding your money with Achievements and the aforementioned Avatar Awards -- a Red Agency Suit and Helmet to be precise.
The pack adds a brand new co-op arcade mode (read: Horde), pitting up to four players against increasingly difficult waves of enemies. Yep. There will also be a new multiplayer mode; Capture the Orb, a "new take" on the classic CTF mode, for up to sixteen players. This mode will be accessible completely in both the trial and free versions of the DLC. The pack will also include updates to vehicles and weapons, details of which have yet to be announced.
Alongside the new information for the Deluge Add-On, Microsoft have revealed more info about the previously announced
Windows Phone 7 game Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst
. Designed exclusively for WP7, Project Sunburst
is a tower-defense game in which players can defend any real-world location (thanks to Bing Maps!) from CD2's Freaks and Cell enemies. Tying into the retail game, your accomplishments in the WP7 game will unlock "perks" in the Deluge mode for CD2. Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst
will be available on WP7 later this month. Price yet to be announced.
Hmm... I seem to remember another game adding a woefully misplaced Horde-style mode in a DLC pack that was loathed by pretty much everyone who played it...
