Team17 has announced a new battle of the creepy-crawly kind in development, Worms W.M.D.
. This year is the 20th anniversary of the Worms franchise, and the 25th anniversary of Team17. To celebrate, they’re taking a whole new approach to the classic 2D warfare between the Annelida. For the first time ever, players will be able to use vehicles with their squishy warriors, and even enter buildings. The Holy Hand Grenade might not be as dangerous as you remember it being if your opponent can take cover in a structure.
Hand-drawn landscapes will map the playing field, and expect to see a full array of devastating, often comical, weapons on display. Check out the screens below for your first glimpse of this latest installment in the arms race of the invertebrates.Worms WMD
is set to release on Xbox One and PC in 2016.
