Bethesda Softworks announced that Fallout: New Vegas has enjoyed record sales at launch reflecting a huge demand for the game. Five million copies were shipped worldwide for the launch of the game with a significant portion of the reported $300 million in sales coming from digital distribution channels.

Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks was quoted as saying:

“We are delighted by the reception Fallout: New Vegas has received from fans around the world. Despite the large launch quantities for this title, we have already received substantial re-orders from our retail partners, underscoring the tremendous popularity of this highly entertaining game. We believe Fallout: New Vegas will be the “must buy” title for gamers throughout the holiday season.”
Bethesda has also released information about the upcoming patch for all platforms that is now in certification and should be released within the next couple of weeks. This patch is said to address the save file bug as well as numerous other problems that have been reported.

When not enjoying video games, our fearless newshound enjoys an nice pint of fermented barley and hops in a variety of styles. India Pale Ales, Stouts, Porters, Witbiers, Saisons, Gose, Lambics, Barleywine, you name it. If it has water, malted barley, hops and yeast in it, I'll consume it. I also enjoy all things technological, Doctor Who, wrasslin, traveling, and spending time with my family.
