This War Of Mine: The Little Ones Dev Diary

By Joseph C, 1 year ago
When we found out that the acclaimed This War of Mine (Win 10) is headed to consoles, a lot of folks were excited.  Subsequent coverage showed us just how detail-oriented the developers are, with motion-capture sessions including children for authenticity.  Now, developer 11-bit Studios and publisher Deep Silver have brought us another dev diary video for the expanded console version, This War of Mine: The Little Ones.

The original has already been hailed for tackling such serious subject matter, and as a great portrayal of how ordinary people see war.   This latest video for the expanded console version shows how the tough choices your average person has to make in a war can affect our most vulnerable wartime asset: the children.  The developers are attempting to push the boundaries of the types of topics examined by modern gaming, and their enthusiasm is evident.  Watch the video below and ask yourself what you would do when your choices directly impact a child of war.

This War of Mine: The Little Ones releases on January 29th, 2016 on Xbox One.

36-year old married gamer, father to a fierce Boston Terrier but no humanoid children. I've been gaming practically my whole life, starting around when I was 5 or 6 years old with an Atari 2600 and progressing through nearly every console ever released apart from the Wii U. I'm a completionist by nature, but am trying to move away from chasing every-higher gamerscore and just focusing on enjoying the great games that are all around me. We'll see how successful I am. I've been on TA since 2009 but have become much more active on the site in the past couple of years, and look forward to seeing it grow now that the XB1 app is getting it some much-deserved exposure!
