Black Ops Breaks Sales Records

Activision has declared this week's launch of to be the "biggest entertainment launch ever".

Black Ops sold around 5.6 million copies in North America and the UK. By comparison, sold a paltry 4.7 million copies last year. First day sales for Black Ops in the US and UK totaled more than $360 million.

In the press release, everyone's favorite CEO Bobby Kotick was quoted as saying:

There has never been another entertainment franchise that has set opening day records for two consecutive years and we are on track to outperform last year's five-day global sales record of $550 million.
Kotick also stated that the game will be supported with new content and features on a regular basis.
